To hit somebody weaker than you is wrong. imo. Even if they have it coming. Being firm and telling them to back off is good, and let them keep some dignity so that they have the possibility to do so. But if they start swinging at u, kick them in the face.

There are plenty of other ways to retaliate instead of violence.

are you serious? if someone is bothering/hitting you and you say "Back off or ill hit you" and he doesnt back off you have the right to hit him, because you have infromed him and by not stopping he gave you consent
